Stupid bullshit like online-only is one of the many factors contributing to my decision to mostly play "old" games.

Hah. Even so, I feel like the reboot just doesn't hit the same as the older games did (pre-blood money, I mean.) The older games, albeit very janky and often unfair, had a pretty unique feeling to them. The atmosphere and music were top of the notch post Codename 47, imo.

and the port to Unreal 5 only made the game unplayable for me since the performance got way worse than before. Like, the game was unoptimized before but still playable. All in all I wish they had stuck to unreal 4 and made the AI fair to fight against and not terminators.

Ready Or Not was great until 1.0 rolled out. The game used to be difficult but fun to play. They introduced some really stupid mechanics in 1.0 like squad mental health management, which did basically nothing. Besides that, the AI was also made to be even more OP than before and the port to Unreal 5
