As for docking the Steam Deck to a TV like a Switch, it's not quite as seamless to my knowledge but it is easily possible. It just won't have a ton of horsepower for higher resolutions.

Basically yeah. It runs the same software but with beefier hardware than the handheld. In theory, you can load your library/saves on an SD card on one device, then transfer it between machines so you don't need to redownload it on both machines.
