I recently finished both Abaranger and Dino Thunder with my partner. As far as sentai seasons go, it has immediately shot up to one of my top 5 seasons. Exceptional all around.
As for Dino Thunder, while it's still a favorite season of mine, I think it's a big case of wasted potential.

Having concurrently watched both Ninja Storm and Hurricanger with my partner over these past 2 months, I can say that overall Hurricanger is much better (to no one's surprise) but personally I preferred Lothor as the big bad over Tau Zant.

I notice this a lot. When it comes to people talking about Tokusatsu in the west, for some odd reason people like to exclude Godzilla. Like bro wasn't here playing in theaters before Ultraman, Goranger, or Ichigo were even thought up.
Every time I hear "Without Saban and Power Rangers you wouldn't have gotten into toku" I think about how I was watching Godzilla and Ultraman as a kid before I knew what Sentai was, and I have always loved superheroes, giant robots, and monsters. I think I would've found the path eventually.
