I was trying to evoke one of those weird asymetrical krana designs that were shown in the old "PROJECT B.U.G.S." sell-in tape

I was trying to evoke one of those weird asymetrical krana designs that were shown in the old "PROJECT B.U.G.S." sell-in tape
This one didn't go quite as well as I hoped but I think I was able to salvage it in editing.
I tried sculpting a custom krana out of clay but a lot of its details got lost in the process of trying to slime things up + lighting. I was able to bring some of the detail back in digitally though.

Was looking through old BZP news posts and in their coverage of New England Brickfair 2014 I found this image containing what are very likely some of the first ever mixel joint-based bionicle mocs...

oh neat harry potter has finally been dethroned from the top themes list after like 4 years
...even though it's probably only because the botanical collection has been broken off into a standalone line, as opposed to being an icons/creator subtheme like it was before

About halfway through the second book now. Feels a lot easier to get immersed in than the previous one. The protector's personalities aren't quite as distinct as I'd like them to be but it's still nice to get a story that's more focused on them.
