Watching Pulp last week & listening to the album since has had a profound effect on me. I'm reminded me of the things I love about this country & how they've been eclipsed across the last decade by dull little flag waving angry people who don't like anything about it at all... including themselves.

Finished my proposal for PhD at Nottingham Trent. Not sure if i'll get it but I really just enjoyed the process and support from members of the academic community, friends and family [esp. my girlfriend]. Made me want to read and write more. Tell you how it goes.

@arseblog.com #arsecastextra Question for pod. Does this feel like season 2007-8 all over again? A humiliating defeat in LC semi? Injuries to our attack? A loss in the FA cup? QF defeat in Europe? 4 points ahead in season at xmas, end up third? An unwillingness to buy a striker?
