This is way different from the chipper articles you start seeing when shit gets bad, offering frankly dire advice on how to deprive yourself to save money. You will know those by how they adapt to modern ingredients to cut costs. Max doesn't do that unless he can't find the original.

He did that video IIRC because TikTok did a trend of making water pie as a novelty. It sounds disgusting and lets you do the shocked influencer face when you reveal that it's just a custard pie and tastes fine. It was also popular during lockdown.
