We sat down our pipettes today and the lab went to see a corpse “flower” in bloom at the Huntington Gardens, toured the gardens and saw amazing plants, then finished up the afternoon along Santa Monica Blvd to check out the Great Elephant Migration

On this #caturday I wanted to introduce Jackrabbit. Brought him inside after he injured his tail. He’s missing the tip of one ear (TNR), 2.5 fangs, 1 back leg, and the tip of his tail. I guess I’m the proud owner of 3/5ths of a cat now

Stress baking update. Too much work to spoon pesto on your bread? Just bake it inside instead. Turned out pretty good, but make sure to drain the pesto from a good amount of oil.

Latest stress baking-rosemary with caramelized garlic and a whole stick of Irish butter mixed in. Pretty darn good

My lab seems to like the butter filled “croissant” loaves so I stepped it up a notch and added chocolate chips to the bottom one. Guess which one they’re eating first…..?

I ditched my stand mixer because mixing the sourdough by hand relieves more stress. Left is a honey wheat loaf and the right is a “croissant “ loaf with a stick of butter grated in. Both pretty darn good
