It was a busy day today at Plant Land. We took advantage of some early in the month light air and covered coldframes. No frost bite this year.
Big thanks to Cheryn, Gerald, Jake, Kelli, Rick and Wendy they were on fire today covering 10 coldframes from 8 - 2.

Hard to beat the berries of the canaertii juniper. This dark green juniper upright creates great winter color in the landscape.

Attention raised garden gardeners if you have hoops and poly over your gardens you can grow a winter garden here in southern IL.
We have onion bulbs, garlic, bulk seed: lettuce, turnips, spinach, kale, peas and more.

The succulents are really showing off fall colors this week. The longer you leave your succulents outside on these chilly days the more color they get. Don't forget to bring them in before the freeze.

We just got in some native Blue Woodland Phlox and some native Hardy Geraniums
They are starting to go dormant but the roots are strong and healthy.
Planting perennials in fall will give your plants a jump on next year.
