Whew! I completed the Sealey Challenge as a fundraiser for The Sameer Project via Open Books Emporium ... ... and it's not too late to sponsor me. I was able to share a book a day for a month, with an interview with the author, or a few times another person. The interviews made the reading experience richer, deeper, more expansive, in ways I think many of these books will make the world. I only learned about it through the fundraiser & wasn't sure how I would do it. Refugees In Libya @RefugeesinLibya X.com Updates We have been informed that all the people were rescued by fishermen. Among the shipwrecked were 13 women, 7 children, and a 2-month-old infant. The Tunisian Coast Guard, fully funded with millions of euros from European taxpayers, cannot rescue lives at risk. At the moment, the lives of the survivors remain unsafe, as they risk being arrested and abandoned in the desert—a practice repeatedly carried out by European allies. We reiterate that the Italian government, being an accomplice in the suffering of these people, must immediately activate its embassy in Tunisia and offer asylum to these 47 victims! Keep sharing.

The gathering outside the UN HQ, 12-6pm EST, Monday to Friday, does many things at once. It confronts power. It causes disruption. It is a constant presence that allows us to gather. It generates alternative media and narratives while delegitimizing the institution that has a responsibility to protect the occupied Palestinian people. The Peoples' Assembly has been called and every struggle is welcome. Gathering every day is connected and leads up to the September 23 convergence call released by Within Our Lifetime (WOL) yesterday, named "National March on NYC for Gaza." Our interconnected struggles are planetary, and they are the basis for getting free and remaking the world. The temporality of this effort is urgent, and the goal is strategic. We are holding space and multiplying as a counter power in the city that exacts a rising cost for their continued inaction. Beyond nation-states, it is always free the land and the people. Break the siege by any means necessary and end the genocide. Abolish capitalism and oligarchs profiting from death, maiming, and destruction. Fight for life.

Last week we confronted Mike Waltz, Steve Witkoff, and Dorothy Shea, acting US Ambassador to the UN, as well as people from Gaza Humanitarian Foundation' who were meeting with UNRWA for the first time at the U.S. mission. The UN and U.S. are actively legitimizing genocide and ethnic cleansing of Gaza and Palestine more broadly. This genocide and ethnic cleansing is ongoing and intensifying as we speak. We must be louder, and more disruptive and fearless than ever before. Not as activists or organizers, but as people across political spectrums and geographies who refuse genocide and fight for life, recognizing that Palestine is our future. We also recognize there is a genocide in Sudan, Congo, Kashmir, +, supported by some of the same parties profiting and supporting genocide in Gaza. For example, the UAE who has engineered a famine being carried out by Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in South Sudan, imposing starvation, has also agreed to accept forcibly transferred Palestinians from Gaza, which is itself a war crime.
