The first step in Phase 2 is a study in University-Rosedale (Ward 11) and Davenport (Ward 9) to explore new rules that would make it easier to build mid-rise housing along Avenues. Join City staff and your neighbours at a Community Open House on October 22 to learn more and share your feedback.

The next step is Phase Two of the City’s Avenues Policy Review. This work will look at bringing in as-of-right zoning, starting with studies in University-Rosedale (Ward 11) and Davenport (Ward 9), so that mid-rise housing along Avenues can move forward more quickly.

Earlier this year, City Council expanded the Avenues network by 283 km. With new citywide policies now in effect following confirmation by the Ontario Land Tribunal in July, Avenues now have clear rules for mid-rise housing, opening more opportunities for homes in walkable communities.
