Before the neighborhood got “revitalized”, you could find these colorful tiles with historical neighborhood facts printed on them.

I also like those weird little transparent "bricks" with blobby blue sculptures inside them. They often appeared when an old wall had lost one of its real bricks, with the artist neatly slotting his own creation into the gap as a replacement.

I used to see the tile ones alongside the canal towpath and the gay history ones all over Islington and Hackney. There's a little mosaic weasel near City Road's famous Eagle pub as well, which I like to think is a nod to the old nursery rhyme.

Shouldn't they all be checking their phones?
