The 2026 LPSC is different from all previous ones because NASA withdrew all financial support*. The meeting is entirely financed by funds that USRA/LPI can raise through various methods, including abstract fees.

My gut feeling is that a COIN framework is a much more suitable construct for modeling the complexities of this conflict than old-school hex-and-counter systems. I’m curious to hear what you think about this game.

4th round went long, a very even matchup of two very different decks. Time was called in the third game, and after extra “Turn 5” we were still not finished. However, a draw meant both of us would lose out on prize packs, so I conceded (one more turn and he would have won, so ‘twas the right thing).

With my newly fearsome deck I won Round 3, topdecking a Lightning Strike for the last “3 to the face”.

2nd round opponent wiped me out with some great cards, sequenced fortuitously. Afterwards, he kindly pointed out I had almost the same pool of cards but had inexplicably left out half of the good ones. In my defense I’m a bit rusty, having played very little M:tG this year.

Unfortunately, my opponent appears to have departed the store…
