Spam filters could definitely be a thing. The last paper I reviewed I recommended some changes, but the second review got dumped to spam. I eventually got a shaming email directly from the editor basically saying “Well, since you couldn’t be bothered to respond we assume these changes are good.”

I HATE this sort of system. Anything other than 5 stars is simply shitty? Thanks for giving absolutely no nuance to the system whatsoever.
