This is your reminder to send story tips to your local newspaper. I sent an email saying how all the outdoor summer camps adjusting to this heat wave with more indoor activities would make a timely story. I guess they agreed. It made the lead story on the front page.

I just finished The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones. Honestly, I don’t think calling it a literary masterpiece oversells it. This book is transformative, and Jones is a brilliant inventor, an alchemist this side of crazy, furiously (and furious) at work. #amreading

This is, I’m realizing, a brilliant treatise on taking historical lessons to shape the ideal society, and it very astutely lampoons religion and religious superstition as the weapons of those who want power and control instead of the ideal of liberty for every person.

When MLK and Coretta Scott King heard the news of JFK’s assassination, Martin turned to Coretta and prophetically said “this is exactly what’s going to happen to me,” adding “I keep telling you, this is a sick society.”
I hate the fact that that sickness is with us still.

This Frank Lloyd Wright puzzle was ridiculously fun. Intricate but symmetrical design meant that we were often hunting for 2 mirrored pieces at once. A thrill!
