Sarah Michelle Gellar posted a video of her offering the role to Ryan and also seemed to confirm in the caption that the series will take place in “New Sunnydale” assumedly meaning the town has been rebuilt after the series finale and that the Hellmouth underneath may reactivated.

Even Johnny Hardwick (Dale Gribble) recorded a few of the episodes before his passing in 2023. No official release date set but the series should hit streaming sometime this summer.

The seemingly confirming that the series’ new episodes will be set in present day with the characters having aged up and adjusting to more modern ways of life. The series revival was officially announced a few years ago with much of the original cast returning.

Also, coincidentally, ended up in the Indiana Jones line near her and some other Star Wars/Lucasfilm legends at Tokyo Disney Sea but figured bothering her again in the wild may count as stalking… 😂

I’m not only a big fan of her work in Star Wars but across all kinds of franchises (special shoutout to Blood of Zeus which I’m obsessed with). It was awesome to see Vanessa in person and get to see her do her thing on the live stage and panel stage.

Trip started off with the best vibes when I realized THE Vanessa Marshall was going to be on my flight and after debating for 20 minutes whether or not I wanted to bother her at midnight before boarding our 12 hour red eye to Japan, I said hi and she (of course) is the sweetest person ever.
