It is sad. But the flags are a non-violent protest which we permit in the UK. The challenge is to come up with something to negate their impact -e.g. the 'Flags is it' response in Wales. There are poppies on all the trees here atm -soon there will be Christmas lights + the flags will be forgotten

I did my MSc in Crystallography in the evenings at Birkbeck. I am very proud and privileged to have been a student there. (Working class upbringing too).
