Welp, I've unsubbed to Forrest Auto Reviews on YT. I respect people's personal beliefs, but ascribing your own personal success to god's influence, then telling everyone to do the same? Cmon.

Why Apple? Why do you keep coming up with special snowflake UX decisions that are just... what?

Pasting into Notes. The world uses command-v to paste. shift-command-v to paste without formatting.

Apple? Nah bro, just ask a friend for some more fingers.

Great time in Hudson. MA at #nokings. Probably 400 people, for such a small town in rural MA it was really amazing.

What do you miss?

Welp. See ya on the other side, Ray…

It me.

Dear Apple. You really need to stop doing this . "Download this app to access your mortgage information" "okee, search -> THE ACTUAL APP NAME"

And the first hit is a crypto app. Nothing to do with what I'm asking for.

How is this good for your user base?

I completely misread this as "PICASSOS VULVA" and, welp, I may have my next band name.

(Also, ya'll should listen to Radio Paradise. One of the few real live independent music streams left in the world)

Absolute surprise on the way across Oregon. Found the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum. "Sure, lets stop in."

Wait. Is that. Can't be. THATS THE SPRUCE GOOSE - not a copy, not a model, the ACTUAL AIRPLANE.

I'm absolutely blown away.

Goodness Discord for Linux updates a lot. (I mean, I guess as often as the desktop version does. I get "Downloading updates!" pretty regularly). But it's sorta neat seeing the version progression.

Legit.

I do love my 3dprinter.

I needed a way to keep my storage boxes (cheap plastic ammo Moses) from sliding around on the shelf in the jeep. Lo, a design that works! Printed these up and they’re perfect fits.

This is why Craigslist is failing and, like it or hate it, Facebook Marketplace has replaced it. After decades of use, I'm firnly convinced Craigslist is wholly owned by this motorcycle guy. No amount of filters or reporting make these things stop showing up in literally every single search.

Took the jeep out for a few days camping at the beach. Going to a longer event soon and wanted to do a shakedown. All gear is good and the tents are in good shape. I love this thing :). Also brought the new e-bike. Hope to ride into town later today.

Welp, apparently YouTube thinks bsky is a dangerous site. Wanna place bets on whether this warning is appearing on links to Facebook, X, or TruthSocial?

Unfortunately, Facebook has become the place to find events, things for sale, and business pages for businesses who think a facebook page is a business page.

But the event search is just sad.

"Hey, show me events aorund me related to (subject)" - in 2025, this search looks like this?

As a youtuber myself (yea yea), I really dislike this pattern where thumbnails are made 100% to draw in the viewer, whether the content in the thumbnail is real or not. Making shit up for the clicks is terrible.

The last project of the day was converting the nerd jeep over into overland mode for the summer. This involves removing the ski box and putting the big tent on.

This thing is like 250lbs but I figured out a way to do it with just two people. Thanks neighbor Cam for the help!

Decided to take a stab at cleaning the shed today. Believe it or not, this is FAR BETTER than it was when I started. I can prety much reach everything. Need a better Ryobi tool rack solution, but this is a good start. This is 100% off grid with it's own solar and batteries.

I do not, would not want.. a barely understood AI model writing my emails for me.

People are having way too much fun on FBMP.

Project "How do we build a full off grid solar power system for cheap" continues apace. Just picked up this trailerful of 330w panels for $27 each. They're all tested. This should bring my home configuration up to about 4kw of solar.

They said I was mad to have a wrench this large. MAD THEY SAID!

I just used it to loosen the trailer hitch pin on the jeep.

Take that you naysayers!
