Departure from planets. We’re doing laser nutcracker in the dome this year. It’s all my fault. The Tchaikovsky is already making me crazier.

Venera 13 probably lasted longer than 127 minutes, but not by that much. It did stop phoning home a bit past the two hour mark though.

Eris and Dysnomia…Eris is more massive than Pluto, but slightly smaller. Her orbit is quite tilted compared to the rest of the solar system. She also was part of the great “line of planets” back in February. #eris #dwarfplanet #solarsystem #space #spacefacts

Sedna is the reddest object in the solar system. Many red things in the outer solar system have tholins on their surfaces. Tholins are a kind of sludge made up of various carbon-containing compounds. Some of these include sugar, so….could you lick Sedna?

Makemake (mah-Kay-mah-Kay) looks grumpy because I was trying to give him a face like an Easter island head. His moon is Mk2. He’s the furthest thing from the sun we can walk to in our scale solar system; farther dumps us into the swamp. #makemake #dwarfplanet #solarsystem #spacefacts #space
