However, when conservatives get elected, I don't see quite the same sentiment, even though they have far more destructive policies.

Can anyone tell me why windows 11 uses so much RAM when opening the calendar?
From what I can tell, it's grabbing several gigabytes (>200MB/s for up to a minute) of data from disc, and putting it into RAM.
WHY??????

I find it a little odd that a few years ago there was a bunch of hype around blockchain, which often needed a lot of processing power from GPUs.
Now that has been largely forgotten, and the hype is around AI, which often needs a lot of processing power from GPUs.
