“A lot of people think that they are protected because of the Thames Barrier and the [...] embankments that protect London from sea level rise and river flooding, [but] a great project needs to happen in terms of funding, raising the embankment along the River Thames and building a new barrier.”

Good to finally see attention being paid to water scarcity and drought in the UK. This country needs to do more and sooner, not waiting for the crisis. This is a good basic explainer of why. #waterscarcity #waterefficiency
How can England possibly be running out of water?
While famously rainswept, climate crisis, population growth and profligacy mean the once unthinkable could be possible

Good to see water efficiency and water reuse in the news. So important to take action on these, especially given climate change impacts we're already seeing. It's not just about sewage spills.
The UK is getting drier. Could reusing greywater help?
Experts say the average Briton uses too much water per day and societal change needs to start today to tackle looming water crisis

Sad to see how little has progressed on inclusion in the gardening world, though not at all surprised. Good for Tayshan Hayden-Smith for saying something about it though. The sector can be a very exclusive place. www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...
