This is a good topic - how to manage your dependency tree for Spring Boot apps. On my team, we put a lot of work into this, minimizing where possible.

I should have scanned Reddit before I went. "Well regarded" is a bit of an overstatement according to the posters there. But does Reddit like anything? Culinary Institute of America seems to be the place to go.

One student I talked to said the hardest thing about the program was cooking eggs. Glad to hear it, I have been failing at cooking eggs for decades. Its hard.

I didn't know the JVM could compile Java on the fly, but makes sense given the jit stuff going on inside. This feels like what Groovy was trying to achieve (coding without build ceremony), but for Java. I think the dependency mgmt will be hard, but overall I like the simplicity.

Interesting idea. Since it is early days, I would first urge a rename before you get traction. There is a popular CI platform for Bazel build ecosystem named Build Buddy. Reusing the name will confuse Bazel+Java folks, but may also attract a cease and desist letter.

That wallpaper in the first frame…you just can’t get away with that anymore. I think we’ve lost a bit of life, that stuff was pure energy.

How about "Oh, that system will be EOL in 6 months, don't touch it." And they give the same answer about it two years later....

Nice. Any chance you recorded? Would have liked to have seen it, but Colorado is a bit far from Aarhus. Also, if you ever want to cover the Bazel build experience with Boot, I can help. github.com/salesforce/r...
