It's like the decline of church attendance. Very good reasons why it did but as a society we never built a secular version of that community building which has led to a lot of our current problems. Lots of people will be prone to simply scrolling away their time instead of meaningful hobbies etc

Is there a reason airlines don't average the costs over the entire fleet rather than trying to pair specific frames to specific low/high utilization routes? Some sort of accounting benefit?
