Flower Sun and Rain is a game that consists of you just running around and either solving bullshit maths equations or reading numbers off a guide book, that REQUIRES you to play a visual novel that only got an English translation years later.

Forgot to add, from what I’ve read so far, the MTV series is genuinely an insanely well done adaptation, I’m talking straight up translating panels to the screen 1:1. Shit rocks.

Kinda hate that some kinda wrote it off as “wow look how edgy this comic from the 90s is, it has all this really dark shit in it” without taking the time to consider how it’s handled and the really surreal storytelling presented here yknow?

Started reading the original Maxx comic last night after being a fan of the MTV series for years and only three issues in I forgot how well (I think) it handles the incredibly dark subject matter at its forefront.

Watching their response to this whole controversy at the moment and it’s pretty good so far! They admitted that the criticism they got was valid, that the video kinda blew and are spending the video actually discussing the significance of a lotta these shows, it’s genuinely lovely to see :)
