#5 "make updates meaningful" - don't invest 500 man-hours to refine an icon shadow, when bugtracker has a long list of unfixed "high" priority bugs or upvoted user-issued improvement requests.

#3: "make it feel safe to upgrade" - don't break the user's setup on most upgrades.

#4: "don't overcook" - often a less polished but more functional system is desirable.

#2: "this is my system" aka "designer DOESN'T always know better" - I can configure stuff how *I* want, not being locked by a shallow vision of the designer.

What always facinated me: Ubuntu LTS respin with EoL kernel. This time: 6.11 is EoL since mid-December last year, replaced by 6.12 LTS. 🤡
