This is something I've talked about with @magicariot.com too. Real life is already grim dark. Let things be happy and good and have problems be solvable, especially in the trans space. We fucking need it.

But also like those characters in queer written stories absolutely do carry that weight for me. Like @elenaabbottauthor.com has werewolves that are like explicitly meant to be that mirror to her trans character. So that like supernatural otherness definitely still hits.

I have this same problem with people calling any story where a person learns to accept themselves or becomes their true self a trans allegory. Like there's no way a cis writer did that on purpose.
