Black women routinely:
Have their pain ignored
Get offered fewer alternatives for therapy.
Have their concerns dismissed.
Essentially get sub standard care as a default setting
This willful negligence is actively killing us.

I am a physician and have had a serious medical issued actively ignored by a healthcare professional. I had the knowledge to advocate myself and to find a provider who did not gaslight me and was able to give me the care I needed. What if I had not been able to that for myself?

Not your level of education nor social status. Black women in the U.S have 4-5x higher maternal mortality compared to any other racial group. The systemic bias &racism baked into the system ensures that this dark trend continues. As health professionals we must continue to call this out & do better

That's what bothers me the most. Highly educated and accomplished women, cast aside for an extremely doofy unscrupulous and vile person. Like...are folks serious?!!! No they are not, and we must all suffer the consequences. 🤬
