I see what you mean, but the same could be said for JavaScript/Node, Python and Go. And I would argue that these languages are specifically designed so the developer does not need to care about memory in most cases.

How does Java force you to understand how memory management works? Don’t the JVM and its garbage collector take care of that automatically?
