Sometimes, parents feel that they need someone to tell them that they're still good parents if they get their kid diagnosed or if they try a med. I tell them that they're great parents because they're out there fighting for their kid, even if when takes them outside of their comfort zone.

I'm so glad it resonated with you! As a doc and a mom who does this daily (and who is absolutely neurospicy herself), I get it. I tell parents that labels and diagnoses are like clothes- we wear them because they fit and they're appropriate. When that's no longer true, we change them.
