After waking up and cleaning up the code, I have gotten a much better implementation.

@mark Do you have an opinion on the `help-quick` command? It currently only displays basic keys, but it can be adjusted to dynamically display other stuff bindings as well.

@tennoseremel I don't know how Debian should handle the situation, but if all the elpa-[foo] packages are only build for Emacs 30, then yes, they can drop the dependency.

@tennoseremel Right, Emacs 30 has an dummy implementation of `compat` that replaces the package.
