The enemy’s gate is always down
It’s the clown panic from 2016 all over again.

Fully agree with skepticism, that’s actually my point. People should assess these fears with critical thinking and learning more about the world we live in. Scared, ignorant people are out there lazing pilots. It has happened to me multiple times, in Sacramento airspace actually.

Ask yourself this, why are these ‘mysterious’ drones/UAVs lit up at all? Lights are not necessary for propulsion at all. In aviation we use them so that we can be seen and fly safely. If I was flying a drone for nefarious reasons it would be completely dark.

I think it’s a nothing-burger that people are blowing out of proportion to get clicks and views.

Every video I’ve seen turns out to be helicopters or 737s. People don’t understand how much aviation traffic there is in the USA. It’s causing real problems too, as people are now lazing these aircraft, which causes permanent damage to pilots’ eyes.

I’ve seen people very proudly lazing these ‘drones’ and post it to social media. As a mil pilot who has been lazed, it is infuriating. It’s like nobody has been outside and looked around since the COVID lockdowns almost 5 years ago.

This ‘drone’ thing has me convinced the American public has no idea how cameras work or how aircraft look at night. It’s like nobody has gone outside and looked around at night since the COVID lockdowns.

I built a gaming computer to replace the “smart” part of our LG tv and my wife actually has really enjoyed it. Adblockers work well and couch co-op gaming has been fun. Windows is kind of annoying but it is familiar.

I hope not, but realistically I do agree with you. Should have been Bernie in 2016.

Disagree. Current Dems already are very center, and that strategy very obviously failed. Dems need to do something different.
December 9, 2024 at 7:11 PM
I agree with you on this point. I think there is a happy medium between innovation and accessibility. People should be have good, functional options on both ends of this spectrum.

Agree

I do like paper when it makes sense, but at work trying to get a networked printer to work has made me lose my shit more times than I can count.

I respect your viewpoint and care about my parents as well, who have been falling victims to scams as they get more elaborate.

However, and again with respect, I disagree with use of this kind of tone. A certain amount of adaptation is just an unavoidable part of life, especially with technology.

Your takes are interesting, so you do you, but, with respect, I think this is a strange hill to die on.

They were the first to do something like this and it was cool. Now we are more aware of LLMs and algos and what they can provide. Spotify fired a bunch of their best employees and I think it is starting to really show.
