We need to stop acting surprised by every small step. We need recognize what the end game is and to act accordingly. It is to establish a dictatorship with all power in the hands of one person and to establish that as a permanent dynasty.

It IS happening. We need to act accordingly.

Writing "strong letters", talking for 24 hours mean less than nothing. These "actions" are laughed at for the weak tea they are.

The current demonstrations need to multiply, must remain peaceful, need coordination. The people must sit down in the streets is numbers that cannot be cleared away.

When will we see the leaders of the Democratic Party stand up - or sit in? Where are the Obamas? The Clintons? Pelosi? Schumer? Sen. Sanders and Reps. Alexandria Occasio-Cortez and Pramila Jayapal are out there at least.

We need leadership to take us to the streets as MLK did - en masse. NOW!

Be warned, yes, Also, download your data from the Social Security website. Your earning record and your verification of benefits letter should be saved against any attempt at a wholesale algorithmic "adjustment".

They (we) did of course. But it is was not as a attractive as click bait. Bullsh*t and sensationalism get clicks.

generation's most "essential" industries have ALWAYS owned the government.

Biden is just one in a long line of employees of the wealthiest. It has been a wonder of efficiency manufacturing consent and belief in the mythology of democracy for ever so long.

Oligarchies have run America from 1776. With layers and layers of mythology and misdirection the richest in the land have always owned the government: the biggest land owners, the railroad barons, the mine owners, the lumber harvesters, the meat packers, and all the moguls of each (1 of 2)

I read this piece. Wow. As though history is not filled with people who have "risen from humble origins" only to turn around and exploit the less fortunate, talented, or clever.

Gosh, didn't we just have two D presidents who did the same?

A 2014 Princeton study said: "Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organised groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on US government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence."

1 of 2 We've had an oligarchy for decades. All govt has long been owned by the wealthiest. That Trump is bringing the oligarchs one by one to his dacha in Florida to bend the knee are we not closer to a dictatorship than an oligarchy? Or at least to having a "kingpin" to a pre-existing one?

I cannot forget that the reason she gave at the time was that Medicare for All "would upset too many markets."

My jaw dropped.

My memory is that her public "reversal" occurred just after some days spent in New York being "vetted" as the VP candidate by financial industry bigshots.

Those who do not resist it when not yet a direct target always risk the moment when their turn in the crosshairs comes and no one is around to stand up with or for them.

Who is willing to fight for someone they do not know?

Yes, the culture of gaming. Harris attacked Biden as racist with "I was that little girl" story & merch. Asked how she could support him? Peals of laughter, "It was just a debate! It was just a debate!" Lost my trust right then as a gamer. I still voted against Trump. Harris was the available tool.

I have to say that what I have read of what service you provide your constituents portrays an extremely kind, conscientious, and effective way to maintain a political base even if the primary motivation is to help people.

Long may your shine your light, Representative! ❤️

Yes. We need to use nuance sometimes rather than unbridled emotion. Unbridled emotion in communication - even when it has righteous roots - is far from always the best strategy.

By the way one of their best Orwellian bits has been to co-opt the labels "moderate" and "centrist" while demonizing the policies that the majority clearly say they want and need as "radical leftist". I don't know how to counter that loss of ground.

Language is powerful.
