EDB Postgres Distributed is a clustering and replication solution for Postgres. I wrote a quick new guide showing how to set up a three-node cluster on AWS, testing out replication, and demonstrating trivially deleting and recreating a node in the cluster.

My tech lead Petr just published a history of logical replication in Postgres, and the various offshoot projects and products that have come out of it. He has been part of these efforts since the beginning so his narration is particularly welcome.

I've been helping our analytics team integrate our DataFusion-based query engine for Postgres into EDB Postgres Distributed and finally here's an end-to-end demo.

You get HA Postgres plus seamless replication and DataFusion-based queries. This query turned out 6x faster than PG.

I started working with Postgres in 2012, when being a DBA meant manually tuning queries, planning upgrades and sitting with devs to write better SQL.

In this post, I share how those DBA lessons shaped the way we built an AI-powered Postgres agent at @xata.io and how things evolved.
From Database Administrator to Database Agent by Gulcin Yildirim Jelinek
Discover how a PostgreSQL DBA’s decade of expertise evolved into designing Xata’s AI-powered Postgres agent, automating monitoring and observability.

Inspired by the post on HN yesterday about running graph queries on Postgres with recursive CTEs, my coworker installed the SQL/PGQ patches locally and ported all the examples to this native graph query language coming (eventually) to Postgres!

Love it when we talk about our customers.

(This is the product I work on; they're using EDB Postgres Distributed for high availability.)

I was invited to the @maintainable.bsky.social podcast hosted by @robbyrussell.bsky.social. We talked about what makes software maintainable and naturally we also talked about Postgres.

I shared some of the highlights of our conversation in my last blog post 👇🏽
