North Africa:

The battalion landed with initial forces during the North African invasion and was recognized for its actions at Gafsa and Tunisia, earning a Presidential Unit Citation.

Sicily:

It cleared underwater obstacles and destroyed enemy pillboxes during the landings in Sicily in 1943.

Normandy:

As part of the D-Day invasion, the battalion was instrumental in clearing a path for Allied forces on Omaha Beach by breaching German obstacles like mines, wire, and other defenses. It also received the Croix de guerre for its actions in Normandy.

Post-Normandy:

The battalion continued to be a part of the 1st Infantry Division's advance through Europe, including helping to build and repair infrastructure under heavy fire.

Awards:

The battalion received the Presidential Unit Citation and the French Croix de guerre (with palm), and was authorized to wear the Fourragère.

Well they're pretty famous as "Portland protesters fishing for ice with donuts" and that's the only "photo" out there, so I had to make one from the video I saw where I'm pretty sure is in Portland. But I could be just as wrong. Thanks for pointing that out 😄

The other photos are all of a scene from Toronto where protesters hung donuts from fishing poles to tease police about something completely different, which I, along with Occupy Democrats and countless others stupidly reposted complete with the headline Portland protesters baiting Ice Agents with donuts on fishing poles!

Scene from the 2006 documentary Idiocracy about the "future" USA where everyone is incredibly stupid and intelligence is punished. The movie even predicted the rise of the then fairly obscure footware called Crocs.
Scene shows the main character, a relatively low IQ man from the past, who is now the smartest person in the world, wearing the standard footware, red Crocs, while riding on the Presidential chopper trike.

Pop was an Antifa Officer in WW2!

My Grandfather, son of Italian immigrants, having a smoke break while fighting fascists in Italy WW2. Because he was an engineer and spoke fluent Italian, he was put in charge of 20K Italian prisoners of war and told to "put them to work". He said the only building materials they had were concrete and steel, so he designed and had them build the world's biggest beer garden overlooking the Mediterranean. If anyone knows where this is, I'd like to find out about it.
