Get rich people out of your institutions and stop blaming foreigners for your problems.
Aren't Finland world leaders in designing and building ice breaking ships? Something I'm sure the US should be securing access to in order too complement there artic security.

Between 2019 and 2024, his vote share in his constituency nearly halved to 34%. We all know why he's bolting now. I wonder if he still claims for a london flat despite his constituency being only 17 miles away.

Not sure come the election that's true. Tories have more wiggle room on welfare reform & therefore fiscal policy than Reform. They can also plug people's agency over their lives opposing Reforms message of victim hood. A hawkish position on Russia also highlights Reforms known sympathy for Putin.

If any news org put Trump interviews out unedited, then nobody would know what the hell was going in. Editors are more to blame for making him appear normal, not the other way round.
January 18, 2026 at 6:12 PM
Either nobody escapes Trumps world order, or we all do. And it's got very little to do with are political leaders actions or words.

Not so much drain as get into the swamp.

The names Bond. Treasury Bond!!

Just rename Reform the expendables. A bunch of has beens getting together to see if they can bag one last big paycheck.

I strongly suspect that's one of the reasons for his rhetoric. Greenlanders are already EU citizens, and Iceland votes on joining in 2027. It's seems the EU already moved 1st and just didn't shout about it.
January 12, 2026 at 1:42 PM
This comes from a man whose party has been in office for 15 of the last 16 years, and he himself in senior positions in government for a 3rd of that period. I am unsure he actually helps Reform at all.

I assume these aren't institutional investors and more likely retail investors, who I wouldn't imagine are the most diligent bunch. I suggest some profit taking over the next few days/weeks will see a more sober assessment of the companies share price reassert itself.

Nice idea, but politics won't get quieter if we try NOW to rejoin. It'll reopen political fault lines & invite madness. However, the inch by inch approach Starmer pusues may work. We're already getting closer & more on single market access could follow. And yet nobody apart from Priti Patel cares.

Agreed 100% Her political acumen in recent times has impressed. By remaining consistent to working people's concerns while Republicans kiss the ring has placed her on solid political ground. Not running for re-election & getting in front of cameras should also place her well for VP run.
January 4, 2026 at 4:40 PM
For all of her detractors & their are many, with good reason MTG has played her hand well in recent times. Ditching re-election in favour of bigger $$ while ensuring MAGA policy foundations like non interference are defended is a trick that has legs. Is she keen on being on VP?

This entire mess is subject to Trumps attention span. By Thursday, he'll lose interest & hang this mess around the neck of his least favourite sycophant.
January 4, 2026 at 4:01 PM
Considering Trump campaigned on "drill baby drill," a decision made in the private sector, it's not surprising he's lying about the US oil giants again. Why would they commit $$$ to reduce the market value of their own product increasing supply?
January 4, 2026 at 9:24 AM
It's a blatant shakedown on a countries natural resources. He doesn't wish to engage with opposition leaders, preferring back door deals to any form of civilian oversight.
January 3, 2026 at 6:50 PM
The fact that the US isn't exploring this very idea tells you all you need to know about their intentions. A client state relationship is likely Trumps aim.

Only time will tell if this policy works or not. But it's sure to be one of the most eagerly watched fiscal experiments of the year.

Doesn't edging towards modernity mean a pathway to abolishing the monarchy?
December 30, 2025 at 10:53 PM
One upon a time, when a minster resigned, they sat on the back benches & licked their wounds while slowly plotting a path back to front-line politics. Now it's get a book out and run to become prime minister?
December 18, 2025 at 5:53 PM
Welcome as this is. I was expecting more of a media/Gammon meltdown about this. Is it a busy news day? Do brexiteers care? Or maybe the government is skillfully nudging us towards further cooperation bit by bit until they get a reaction.
December 17, 2025 at 8:24 PM
But isn't this the AfD whose party and leader say nothing bad about China?
December 17, 2025 at 8:12 PM
Well, at least we know he's not in Clacton.
