If somebody wrote a prompt saying "make a video of a 3D statue of liberty crying", that person isn't an artist, and what was produced isn't art. And it contributes to an AI that is taking jobs from workers.

We're all pro-worker here, right? Why embrace anti-worker tools?
January 13, 2026 at 1:07 AM
The issue isn't the manipulation of images! It is WHO is manipulating. If someone spent the time to create a 3D model of the Statue of Liberty so they could have her cry, there's thing wrong with that! That's an artist, making art!

I know what hypocrisy means. I am asking, what am I being hypocritical about?
January 13, 2026 at 1:02 AM
Where is the hypocrisy? Again, AI =\= photo editing software.
January 12, 2026 at 11:33 PM
So if we see something wrong, we should be silent about it? Is that how we work toward a better world?
January 12, 2026 at 11:07 PM
Altered =/= AI, you get that, right?

Honestly, I didn't expect this response, it was surprising and disheartening.
January 12, 2026 at 11:06 PM
The only ethical concerns I have with Photoshop is Adobe's embrace of AI.

Keep in mind "photoshop" is a verb as well as a noun, and a placeholder for similar software (like kleenex for tissue paper). I can easily do the background image in Krita or Gimp, without an AI handicap.
January 12, 2026 at 10:58 PM
There was outcry over its embrace of AI, yes. This is something that is very easily done without it.
January 12, 2026 at 10:56 PM
The background is the image itself, enlarged, and blurred. Very simple Photoshop job.

I posted two words and pasted a comic book panel. You wrote more and even started filling out a form with my name and date. Based on effort it sounds like you might need this form more than I do.
January 12, 2026 at 6:08 PM
Are you saying the Batman meme is AI?

It is from Frank Miller's legendary 1986 comic book miniseries "The Dark Knight Returns". One of the most influential superhero stories of all time. It is written and drawn by a human artist.

Also, how does it work as a distraction? We still know about Epstein, we still talk about Epstein. Khanna and Massie are still working to get the Epstein files.

Okay, it's not a top level topic on the evening news or newspaper. So few people get their news that way now.
January 12, 2026 at 2:13 AM
I think it is offensive that you say we can't call each other out to do better. And my comment shouldn't be offensive to the poster, it's an attack on the AI content itself.

Now if the poster themselves "created" that AI content, then yes I mean to insult anyone who would do that.
January 11, 2026 at 11:06 PM
I chose to stop and comment because I believe this movement should not use cringe slop created by machines. Post a political cartoon of a crying Liberty, if you need that, from a real artist.

I get people replying to me don't care or enjoy AI. Do you get that there are people who don't?
January 11, 2026 at 9:32 PM
I'm not saying they "can and cannot". Of course they can, nothing illegal or anything.

Look to my first reply to you, I'm saying they _shouldn't._

I'm saying it's wrong. It contributes to one of the societal ills we face today.
January 11, 2026 at 8:15 PM
That's a really nice lookin' cookie, I'll admit I am jealous.
January 11, 2026 at 8:03 PM
The AI is built by stealing massive hordes of art created by humans. The use of it is wrong, regardless of how it is used. Continued use of the AI contributes the artists losing their jobs.

The video is completely unnecessary. Just rely on the art of Maya Angelu's poetry.
January 11, 2026 at 8:02 PM
Why are you using a poorly-looped gif hosted on with a gif-finder.com watermark? Why can't you be more exceptional and original?

(Because it's totally cool to just use something that works [unless you're using AI images or videos, that's fucking lame])
January 11, 2026 at 7:57 PM
The left shouldn't use the art-stealing tool of the right. Why would this be a controversial opinion that needs to be silenced?
January 11, 2026 at 7:55 PM
You don't need to be sexist.
January 11, 2026 at 7:54 PM
Was never going to bring that up, didn't think it was necessary. My comment was precise and said all it needed to say.

But now I'm curious why we're all so quick to defend the use of AI, the same tool the fascists use?
January 11, 2026 at 7:54 PM
But we all know social media doesn't work like that, right? It's 2026, we get that be now, correct?
January 11, 2026 at 7:52 PM
Stop embracing AI.
January 11, 2026 at 7:50 PM
Why make up a new term when there is one that works perfectly? That's just silly.
