I have the MoviesTVNetwork on my antenna lineup, and I spent 7 hours today watching 3 Film Noir films that I have never seen.

I have had this book on my living room shelf for a few years, and decided to give it a whirl. Wow! This author is amazing. It takes place in 1936 Berlin, and to have the cajones to write a scene with Herman Goering is wild. Bernie Gunther is my new favorite historical private eye.

I have had these Irises for years. I got them from a wonderful co-worker who passed away a few years ago. I don't know what kind they are or what the scientific name is. I call them a Simone Iris after my friend.🌱😊

I'm so sad to hear about Richard Chamberlain's death. I loved him in the made-for-TV movie The Man in the Iron Mask with Jenny Agutter.

I finished the third book in the Malazan Book of the Fallen series this morning and damn, what a fantastic book! Erikson is the best modern epic fantasy writer today. IMO.

I finished the first volume of "Undiscovered Country" this morning. I loved it. It's from @imagecomics.bsky.social and written by Scott Snyder and Charles Soule. The timeline at the end seems quite prescient if the next WH administration goes off the rails. #ComicBooks #comics

I have been going through my book collection of old paperbacks that I bought in the late 1970s & early 1980s because I don't want my children to deal with getting rid of them and I was wondering if anyone had some obscure titles they would like to share. Here's mine. #books

Book Title is World Enough, and Time by James Kahn. It has fantasy creatures in black silhouettes with the colors of yellow, light brown, and ochre. The back of the World Enough, and Time paperback with a description of new animals in Southern California who had destroyed their homes & stolen their wives. Josh Green, the scribe sets out on a quest with Beauty, a centaur, to hunt a Vampire, a Griffin and a monstrous mutant. The title of the sequel to World Enough, and Time is Time's Dark Laughter. It has a woman on the cover as some kind of creature sitting on what looks like a throne and a black cat down below and to the left. The color is a cross between ochre and red? The back cover of Time's Dark Laughter that states five years have passed since the events in World Enough, and Time. Beauty's wife has left him to mind-link with the Pluggers. However, she removed the helmet that protected Josh from the mental summons of the City With No Name. Thinking of all the Navy men in my family today. My dad, his father and brothers, and my oldest son.
My two uncles are on the left and the right and my grandad in the middle during World War II. My uncles are wearing enlisted men's uniforms and my grandfather has on a chief's uniform? My dad before he joined the Navy. He has hair combed back and wearing a checkered jacket with plaid tie. My son who served in the Navy aboard the USS George Washington and my grandkids at a restaurant in CA.
