On the way up to Arthur’s seat, an ancient extinct volcano, in Edinburgh. Quite a climb and very, very windy but worth it for the views at the top.

St Enoch’s subway station in Glasgow. The subway system is like a mini London Underground Circle line. There’s an inner ring and an outer ring that go in the opposite directions to each other. It’s not exactly a smooth ride but it’s cheap and frequent. #photography #blackandwhite

Walking up to the mound and Edinburgh castle we came across this wonderful view that looked straight out of Hogwarts. It’s part of the University of Edinburgh and is well a look if you are in this part of the world. Not worth your time was the Royal Mile, full of cheap tourist tat.

Today is the Autumn equinox which means that the day and the night are of equal length. I thought this photo would be good to mark the day. I took this a while back while taking students out to photograph around the school I worked in. #photography #autumn

Just back from a few wonderful days in Scotland. This is the largest terracotta fountain in the world and was mighty impressive. You can find it in the People's Park in Glasgow.

It's unusual for this time of year, but it's been gloriously sunny with cloudless blue skies for nearly a couple of weeks. Went for a walk in a place called Severn Beach. The walk takes you under the second Severn bridge as it crosses over to Wales. An impressive structure. #photography #bnw

The freezing cold weather that we have had for what seems like an eternity has gone. We have passed the Spring Equinox, so to celebrate, here's a photograph of a Cowslip in full bloom. Hope you are having a great weekend. #photography #bnw

We have had several glorious sunny days here accompanied by frosty nights and mornings. Took this photo of a hyacinth using a Moment macro lens attached to my iPhone. The lens can be a bit hit and miss but this one turned out perfect. Hope you are having a great day #photography #macro

Spotted this really huge gnarly ancient tree on a walk at Bishops Knoll. It's about 700 to 800 years old. #photography #bnw

This is a long exposure photo taken of the weir at a place called Snuff Mills. I used the Spectre camera app from the makers of Halide. Easy to use and worked perfectly. #SpectreShot #photography

From the archives. Snowdrops, one of the first flowers to make an appearance at this time of year. Bulbs of all sorts are coming up and on their way, preparing for the Spring that is yet to come. Hope your Monday is going well. #photography #flowers

A sunny but cold day. This is a pot of daffodils that I bought a couple of weeks before Xmas. They are now flowering and looking so good against the blue sky. Can’t wait for Spring..

Sun’s out after a frosty start. A clear blue sky after what seems like an eternity of grey skies and dampness…

Up by the Clifton suspension bridge again today, with the exciting addition of fog. It was good to get out and about even if the weather wasn't the best. I hope you had a pleasant and relaxing festive break #photography #bnw

There’s a photo folder called ‘sort’ on my external drive which has sat there happily being ignored for a very long time until today. Found this one which had a quality that really appealed to me. Hope your Monday is going well… #photography #nature

We’ve had far too many cold, grey, gloomy, overcast days for my liking. So what better way to lighten the mood than by posting a gloomy image of a graveyard on a foggy day… #photography #bnw
