I jokingly allowed my players to buy a Helm of Teleportation (that insists upon itself), thinking I'd have to find some whacky third-party art to portray the item when I make them a physical card for it.

As it turns out, the Helm of Teleportation really does insist upon itself! D&D official art...

Back to back #Tarkir packs, I'm just built different
Two magic: the gathering cards are sleeved in hardshell cases while surrounded by other cards. One is Elspeth, Storm Slayer, a mythic planeswalker for 3 and two white mana. The other is a borderless Verdant Catacombs, a mythic Special Guest land that lets you tap it, pay 1 life, and sacrifice it to put a Swamp or Forest from your library onto the battlefield.

Three Magic: The Gathering cards on a green, black, and purple game mat. A Command Tower (which taps for any colour in your commander’s colour identity) is tapped, as is a Sol Ring (a 1-cost artifact which taps for two colourless mana). Untapped is a Swiftfoot Boots (a 2-cost artifact equipment that grants hexproof and haste to a creature for an equip cost of 1).

Dang, the Orzhov Aetherdrift-only commander gimmick deck I ran last night at FNM held its own surprisingly well! No wins, but second place against waaaaaaaay more expensive decks.

Probably helps that I pulled an Aetherspark from my entry pack and immediately put it in game 2, but still… very fun 😊

We’re currently taking care of a 1y/o pregnant cat, and all of a sudden it turns out I’m not actually allowed to use the bathroom facilities!

Decided it was time for a new colour in my life… goodbye bright blue, hello deep green 💚

I love Sunday. The markets are closed, and the crows have returned to explore their domain in search of forgotten treats.

This holiday has been better than almost any other break I have ever had. I’ve had equal opportunities to adventure and to rest, and I feel amazing even on the days when I feel wrecked.

Played some casual workplace magic today, and by far the best card in play was STEVE!

A random joke mascot for a clue-generating deck, he was one Sherlock deerstalker away from perfection I reckon.

Been a long time since I’ve had a proper story idea (more than a few pages). Have cracked out the only method that’s worked for me as a writer before now to keep it organised: the humble stack of post-it notes!

Due to my small space, this is now my view from bed… I feel haunted by the narrative 😅

Today (November 20) is Trans Day of Remembrance. We honour the memory & spirit of all trans folk who we've lost to bigotry and violence, we remember them, and we fight on for them.

We fucking fight on for them, and for us, okay? We fight on.

I went 3-3 overall at the Kill Team tournament in Queensland (and played a 30min speed game to a tie on Saturday night after a bottle and a half of wine 😂), and that gave me a career best 6th place!

2 of my losses were incredibly close, too, with only 1 point separating me and 5th placed Emma!
