Gas in Texas has been under $3 all year. Same a last year iirc. Mostly between 2.50 and 3. My parents just reported around $2.15 in southern CO. $1.99 is still doubtful but $3+ certainly isn't the lowest

I'm gonna take a wild guess, having done no research, but I don't think illegal immigrants, making less than minimum wage under the table are able to afford $500k+ homes and are actually having a very negotiable impact on affordable housing availability
