Got my contributor’s copy today! It was fun to revitalize and redo the Caypin for 2e; I like my tentacle-faced friends very much 😀

What awesome paper. Also, the poster highlighted in the interview is incredible; what I would do to get a copy of it...

This year’s pumpkins are Baba Yaga’s hut on chicken legs and a frog/toad…a froad?

I remember first reading Tomonobu Itagaki's interviews in EGM in the early 2000s and marvelling at the balls on this guy. Ninja Gaiden's Xbox revival came out around then and I'll always remember this ad which embodied all of his attitude. 58 is too young to go. A real loss for the game industry.

Moving house and found the busiest character sheet ever for one of the many iterations of my first D&D character

He started out as an emo ranger suffering from PTSD who thought his dwarven wife was dead. Ended as a jolly fellow who rescued her from the Shadowfell and shot Demogorgon in the face

October is upon us. Truly the only month worth a damn

This site ranks me as a 4.2, which is about the average that Electronic Gaming Monthly gave Resident Evil Gaiden back in the day

I like RE Gaiden as an underrated experiment, I'll take it

What other game lets you play as these incredible character options. Bill shall rise up to make the world a better place for those amongst the dung!

The wind is blowing, the leaves are turning shades and finally I feel like we are entering the season of this Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness screenshot. Autumn makes me feel so much better

Mockup of a zone-based battle system inspired by 16-bit RPGs, using sprites made by @13thhr.bsky.social. For a homebrew TTRPG system I've been drafting for us to play around with. (The systems we've previously used have been good but haven't 100% fit our purposes, so why not make our own?)

I somehow managed to mention not just one, nor two, but FOUR vaporware fan games that I followed in my younger days in this lovely article...

Where are my Chrono Resurrection/Card Sagas Wars/Indiana Jones and the Fountation of Youth/Hero 6 peeps at

The whole Infinity Blade series (the only mobile franchise worth a damn)

And last but certainly not least...

Tomb Raider: The Unicorn Quest (fangame made by my brother @13thhr.bsky.social in Klick & Play; good stuff)

Hard Wound: Lord of the Underworld (obscure Chinese mobile beat-'em-up)

Found this artwork I drew in 2004 as a high school kid. I called it "Dreams." I remember not liking it back then but I find myself moved by it today.

(It's really small because this is an actual low-res scan from that year. I think the original is in my parents' house)

The character sheets that Ramona has done for us are real beauts! The prompt was to make 'em look reminiscent of an actual licence from the Mappa Mundi institute and to evoke a chronicle-like feel.

Been skimming the Daggerheart PDF and the section on portraying disabilities is nice to see in a big budget fantasy TTRPG product. I wish there had been another page or so devoted to neurodiversity, but this is a good precedent to set. (Shoutout to @ilananight.bsky.social who wrote this bit)

Visited Stonehenge today. Pretty cool; makes me think of all the possibilities and beauty that abounded in Britain prior to the Romans.

Also, I know that druids really didn’t have anything to do with these rocks, but I will always remember my first introduction to Stonehenge in King’s Quest VI

In the latest episode of @13thhr.bsky.social's podcast, I hopped on to chat about the Wizardry anime from 1991. Fun discussion! We talked about Wizardry's enduring popularity, the history of CRPGs, and why ninja always show up in Japanese roleplaying games podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

A very busy #UKGE2025 complete! Best part was people coming up to the @threesailsstudios.bsky.social stall asking for our signatures. Also wonderful to see Mappa Mundi and Gallow’s Corner catching people’s imagination and winning their praise. Thanks all!

For the last few months I've been chipping away at all 380 chapters of Berserk. Finally finished and wrote up my thoughts - the good, the not so good, the Golden Age Arc, Miura's evolution as a creator, and how this manga is as old as I am.
