The current administration seems to have plans for the rest of our lives. They do not include prosperity or breaking any glass ceilings, but to be slaves to their automated manufacturing plants. Whether it be cars or AI - their plans do not include the people.

Soap Box: Large Language models - Giving away your right to think does not make smart. It makes you a plagiarist who as a side benefit is burning so much energy in your feeble attempts that you are guaranteeing destruction of the planet, and surrendering your future to corporations who control them.
