I’ve been pondering the logic behind burning 500 metric tons of food. I know that we’re seeing horribly cruel acts that seem the height of evil. Yet, the next level of horror keeps appearing. I honestly have no idea how we can recover from all of this and we’re only 6 months in.

This morning when I launched my email the first one up was from the SSA. Typically I don’t receive emails from them, especially on holidays. The email outlined all the advantages of the passage of the BBB to me personally and credited the current prez. Mollifying the boomers I suppose?

I’ve been to many protests in my life and not once was I sleepless the night before. I’m hoping for a peace filled day but am ready if it becomes something else. The weight of what we are all doing today is being carried on all of our shoulders. Today we stand and are counted.

Today I crashed, emotionally. How did I deal with the overwhelm? I cried in the shower, ate some stuff that isn’t good for me, and I went on a walk. Today I gave myself permission to simply disengage. Tomorrow I press on.

In Oklahoma this week it was announced that changes to the NOAA will mean that there will no longer be reliable tornado alerts. But you can get a subscription to receive alerts. Also there are no guarantees that the siren system will function properly. In an all red state I hope they are happy.
