You can see Unai was keen to protect him when he came off. He actually made a beeline to him. To reassure him. Thought he looked decent. Needs minutes and confidence.

Recruitment has been average for a while. It’s all stale. Attitude in some is almost sulking. We aren’t athletic, don’t get around the pitch. Ball moves slowly. Nothing to like! #avfc

It’s his understanding when to run and when to pass. Move the ball quickly. When you can hurt teams then dribble.

Agree on Rogers. Has to understand if you are struggling as an individual or as a team just move the ball quicker. Whole team looks a bit lost. Manager as well. Concerning start. Whole club needs a positive week.

Rogers was awful. We can’t run. So therefore have to move the ball quickly. We don’t do that’s Pau really poor 12 months. Unai looks a bit lost with it really. Not played well since Palace handed our arses to us at Wembley.

You can feel the momentum building towards if he came back that all else would be forgotten. If it’s going to happen it happens this summer. Would he want it? If Unai wants it it happens?

I’m up for kicking the tyres. Ball retention has been a problem for us. He offers us a lot of that and his ability to go past players. If he can do it still? Wonder about the injuries and how they are impacting him. I was surprised when we saw him at VP earlier in the season by a lack of pace!

Yep. Two or three. He will be rebuilding it again. Im normally pretty sentimental about Villa players but the big games and some of the performances in those games make me think that all are available really and I’ll understand why. (Maybe except Ezri Konsa).

Just shows how difficult it is to find an elite centre back who can do both. Ty’s comeback over the past 2 months is remarkable. Playing at a high level. I’d expect to see Ty and Ez play at Wembley next Saturday against Mateta.
