ok it was pretty fun, except for the 45 minutes i spent destroying a cam lock i had to remove and couldn't.
2 simple black chest-high IKEA shelving units neatly stacked with a variety of old games for many systems, DVDs, CDs. there are also some books. atop is a lamp, impossible to see behind its own glow. this is next to a bed. view from the bed. the lamp is revealed as an orange glass donut. further away, hidden in a nook, is 2 more of the same IKEA BILLY shelf units. they have black doors hiding what may be inside. a few gunpla are posed on top. behind is a large poster of a Hubble photo of the horse head nebula. hats and a robe hang in front of the cabinets on either side.

i love this one. Castianeira descripta, or Red-spotted Ant Mimic.

8-legged but its posture makes it look 6-legged, somewhat like an ant. this species is also very fast as it's an active hunter what runs down its prey.

here it expertly hiding itself from me under a tiny piece of plant
shiny black big booty spider with a huge rough-edged rust-colored spot on top of its opisthosoma. it's fairly small and hiding under a tiny single twig covered in leafs what look like pale green mini coffee beans or little curlicues. its 8 legs are splayed such that it always appears to have only 6. it is on a concrete curb in daylight.

here's an Agelenopsis "grass spider" i saw a few summers ago in its grassbound funnel-web lair. ambush hunters like this are FAST runners, super fun to watch if you ever get to see one going after prey. but don't disturb their webs; they know you're not a bug.
macro shot from the front of a dark spider, pretty normal size and shape, in a funnel-web facing out toward the camera. much leaf debris is woven into the structure of the elaborate web lair. the banded legs of the spider are arched in a typical pose for an ambush spider in wait.

they didn't tell me seth green was a stoner in the x files. nobody warned me.
a tv showing the X Files. young seth green, hair long and lustrous red. two coats over a sweater, uncoordinated in style. he holds a really bad looking hamburger, it's all bun and looks completely dry even in 380p, in one hand, and his eyes are closed. he is recounting a ufo sighting which is why the showrunners must have chosen such a burger which is more platonic dome than appetizing, although in fact all ufos in this episode and the stoner's life are tringles. he could have held a pizza slice, but maybe there was no pizza but corporate pizza in small towns in the early 90s. seth green is now making a very stoned face after being shown a photograph of the triangle ufo he has seen.

new mech - baskyrotto heavy tetrapod custom. super proud of the lower frame & legs. the fact it can carry its own weight in more than one stance is p cool.
heavy tetrapod mech in tan colorway. it carries a massive long-range rifle twice as long as the mech is tall and twin 2-pack vertical missile launchers back-mounted. it has a red monoeye. the mech is in a low, semi-crouched posture as if to ready a high-power shot. same mech. this picture is more zoomed out to show the full array of missile launchers and the bulky shoulders of the mech. same mech. here it is standing taller, in a walking posture. it looks down at the viewer with the curiosity of a human observing a grub or other helpless pest.

a plastic model of a custom mech at 1:144 scale. the mech is primarily red with white feet and accents, including a large eyeball-like chest turbine. it also has dark red and some black armor accents, and mostly grey weaponry. the mech's right arm ends in a drill instead of a hand, and has large armor plates protecting it. the mech is standing kinda cunty, hips cocked, rifle pointing to the sky in its left hand. the left arm also has a massive, surfboard-like combination shield attached. the mech has a single large red monoeye shaped like the visor of a scifi helmet. a 1:144 plastic model of a custom mech. this mech is blue, grey, and white. it is asymmetrical, with an armored whit left arm aiming a laser SMG toward the camera, and a right arm which below the elbow is just a large generator/base for a powerful laser sword. it has long, blue, winglike armor plates attached to the hips which can be actively positioned to cover the legs from the sides. its right knee has a large blue armor plate projecting from it, nearly as long as the leg. over the mech's shoulders protrude two powerful - looking laser cannons. the mech has a single green monoeye housed deep in a head shaped like a scifi marine helmet.

finally picked up a huge LIZARD before US stock runs out and it costs $500 to get one from china

a large cardboard box sits on a hardwood floor next to a nice mechanical pencil for scale. the box is 2-3 pencils wide and probably 6-7 pencils long. the box reads LIZARD and displays action art of the mech contained inside: a shiny red bipedal mech with two (2) gatling guns attached to each outstretched arm, presumably raining hellfire on its foes. the mech design is from Chinese 3rd party manufacturers, largely inspired by Gundams. it could be described as bulky and heavy, but sleek and stylish.

backlog is too big, been obsessed with, and stocking up on, #30mm. had to crack open a #gunpla box and just make a lil guy. cool lil guy. no tinkering needed. nice to start and finish a kit in one sitting.
an approx. 8 inch tall plastic model of a Helmwige Reincar, a mobile suit from Iron Blooded Orphans. It is a blue and yellow humanoid robot with bulky shoulder armor, bull-like horns, hoof-like feet, a mono-eye, and a colossal double-sided sword held forward towards the viewer. the sword appears to be a purely kinetic melee weapon, impractical as that seems for fighting armored robots. the model is standing on a window sill; outside are green trees and grey sky.

on a stone/wood coffee table, a brand new instruction manual for a Zojirusji rice cooker (model NP-GBC05). the manual is almost 90 pages, split among 4 languages, which I think are English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. topics include "EXPLANATION OF RICE", "HOW TO COOK RICE", "TIPS TO COOKING GREAT-TASTING RICE BY MENUS", "SOUND SIGNALS AND HOW TO CHANGE THEM" and so on. the reader may feel a sense of professionalism and endeavor upon laying out the manual to read. expectations are high.

I am pleased to announce I have acquired, this.
a small cactus shaped like 9 melons stacked on top of each other. its spines are uneven. it is freshly planted in a ceramic pot painted crimson on the lower body. four dusty amethyst circle it in a bed of pebbles. the view is from an elevated apartment balcony. the cactus is a "unicorn cactus".
