Olga (a.k.a. Ghost at Noon, 2017/2019), a music video for Kompleksi, had its origin as an improvised short that was filmed September-October 2017 at Milavida (Näsilinna), Tampere. Thanks to fellow students Anne, Inkka and Mauri (who also operated the second camera).

"The Doctor Factory Pinchpenny" (December 2018). I directed for Voionmaa this adaptation of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens in the style of Aki Kaurismäki. A commissioned work, made with professors, teachers and doctoral students from the Department of Psychology at the University of Tampere.

Another short, a blend of comedy and supernatural elements. Made when I studied for "Vocational Qualification in Media and Visual Expression" at Voionmaa. I co-directed (with the film's visuals as my own responsibility) and assisted with the screenplay. Antti Matikainen in the starring role again.

My degree work for Voionmaa Institute's Film & TV Dept., May 2018. I wrote and directed. The actors and crew were all students of Voionmaa. Filmed on location at Lielahti Manor and Hiedanranta, Tampere. The electronic soundtrack was by Sonic Temple Assassins, a.k.a. Jani Hellén of Tammela, Finland.

Lipas (The Box) was originally a student work from my screenplay made with three other guys for Voionmaa Institute in September-October 2017 and "remixed" (with some additional material) in 2021. A sort of mishmash of crime, surrealism and a bit of comedy. Antti Matikainen of Kirje 2 starring again.

The sequel, Kirje 2, followed in 2017. Originally meant as another short, it expanded into a full-length film. The premises are again in film noir but it turned into something more surreal. Filmed in collaboration with Pispalan Kumppanuus media workshop & Pispala Theatre, providing the lead actors.

This is where it all started. Kirje - The Letter, a film noir-inspired short film made at Pispalan Kumppanuus media workshop. I wrote the film and co-directed it with Janne Perttula (in the lead role + music + editing), a musician better known for a dark jazz project called Heroin and Your Veins.
