This collection of short stories is a fast read. I bought this at a used bookstore only to make it more used by spilling water on the cover. I guess it made the stories even more even better.

If you want to learn the origin of late night, the evolution of late-night programming, and the current state of late-night programming, this documentary series covers all of the subjects and more. From Mary Kay Stearns and Steve Allen, Ernie Kovacs and Jack Parr, and bunch of hosts until Johnny Carson aired in October 1962 and Dick Cavett as well. This brings Late Night to the early 1990s where Carson dominated for decades and due to the rivalry, he never let Joan Rivers have her due.

I've decided to change this up a little bit instead of just listing the movies I've watched. While I've seen some of these in the theater, too much time has passed to do single reviews. Therefore, I'm adding them into this blog and including whether to WATCH IT or SKIP IT. I'm not responsible for experience gained or time wasted.

Fosse/Verdon is the creation by Thomas Kail and Steven Levenson and based on the biography Fosse by Sam Wasson. For someone that knows little about Bob Fosse except he was a master at directing and choreographing Broadway musicals and knowing less about Gwen Verdon who was Fosse's lifelong wife, supporter, and at one point muse, from the first episode to the last, this biopic mini-series was beyond great.

Hands down this show deserves to be watched for several reasons but this show was cancelled after one season. Again, I'm still recommending it because the cast and characters was what kept my attention. Countdown is about a task force of different law enforcement agencies coming together for a common cause of capturing the people responsible for killing a Homeland Security officer.

Netflix needs to apologize to viewers for Mindhunter cancelling after two seasons and now The Waterfront for cancelling after one season. I'm still recommending The Waterfront because I love Holt McCallany as an actor and this crime drama about the Buckley family has a good supporting cast with interesting characters. Harlan Buckley (Holt McCallany) is the owner of a restaurant and his wife, Belle Buckley (Maria Bello) helps him keep clean of all the North Carolina criminal activity surrounding his family.

This two-part documentary covers Charlie Sheen's life from a child growing up in Malibu, California. This documentary was directed by Andrew Renzi and while more hard-hitting questions could have been asked, I think this is a little bit of truth, redemption, self-acceptance, family, and responsibility. While this doesn't cover every incident that happened in Charlie Sheen's life, it does cover quite a bit of his down and up lifestyle.

Be more like a worker bee. Worker bees do not ask questions. They shut up when they are hurt. Their minds are empty. The tasks done are meaningless and dull. Worker bees are such good followers. They do not want to lead. They have no personality. The buzzing noises are a means to no end. Be less like the queen bee. Your existence will never be anything important. Remember what happened last time. You forgot to breathe and died.

The Luckiest Man in America (2024) is about Michael Larson who won a large amount of money on "Press Your Luck" in 1984. It stars Paul Walter Hauser, Walton Goggins, Shamier Anderson, David Strathairn, Maisie Williams, Brian Geraghty, Patti Harrison. It is rated R and one hour and 31 minutes. Hamilton (2016) is about Alexander Hamilton, the first Secretary of the Treasury and founding father.

Surviving Ohio State is an excellent documentary about a subject many people don't want to talk about or even acknowledge exists and that is predatory medical staff preying on certain type of students. The doctor, Richard Strauss, happened to be in charge of the thousands of athletes' welfare coming and going while they attended Ohio State from 1978 to 1998. The students he targeted often came from low to middle-income families.

The Lost Sons is directed by Ursula Macfarlane and is one hour and 38 minutes. This is a story where the best writer couldn't make this up without some kind of aid whether it be natural or synthetic. I say this because this story is too tragic of a story to be described any other way. This story is rare enough where everything about it looks and smells too good (bad) to be true (overall compelling from an entertainment standpoint but from a realistic standpoint absolutely devastating).

All the read texts will not change the situation.Fancy words never really fit into this.All the abnormal connection is gone.Describing it as tragic does make sense.All the unanswered calls will not make anyone feel better.Meaningless words have been tossed around too much.All the diseased energy is dead.Viewing it as humor does not help the perspective.

Definitions tell the truth.The story of our days.Pages of letters and words in the open.Characters ignite bolder, brighter, and better.The honesty increases.Pushing us further to resolution.We can no longer ignore.The truth will dangle.Our sentences tighten.Synonyms are different now.The onus must fall on the participle.
