Optimistic in the face of challenges. In no particular order, I'm a reader, RenFest attendee, scrapbooker, DuoLingo addict, mom, mediocre chess player, lawyer, open source fan, occasional yoga practiser, and life-long learner. Also married to some Guy.

The best and quickest way to address the MAGA health care hike is a clean, one-year extension of the enhanced premium tax credits that is written into the CR Congress ultimately votes on to reopen the government.

Official start to the annual anniversary Bike ride!!! This year 29 miles for 29 years. Our bike rides are a great analogy for marriage - bumps, cracks, sometimes a fallen log blocking your way forward but a little wine and some team spirit see us through!!!

I have not been inspired to attend a rally in 35 years even when I loved or hated what past administrations were doing. But, today, I attended #HandsOff because I have to do SOMETHING. Also, shout-out to the kind baristas at Beehive Espresso who let me park in exchange for a tasty Iced Cappucino!

There should be a constitutional amendment that anyone over the age of 65 not be eligible to serve as a member of Congress, federal judge, or as a President.

Let's be clear: House Republicans' funding bill is Congress rolling over for the billionaire arsonists by rolling out a slush-fund filled, year-long continuing resolution that empowers Trump and Musk to pick winners and losers with YOUR taxpayer dollars. I will vote NO.

@cantwell.senate.gov Please vote NO tomorrow on the CR. Stand up to the Republican bullies in the House.

One week without Facebook. I've been satisfying my urge to scroll by trawling the AP and Economist. I also think I have done more reading of 'real' books than in recent history.

What does the Cloud cost the Earth? Why do corporations keep data so long? It goes back to regulations and policies that set timelines for holding data. Companies can establish sane retention policies but adjusting regulations to be similarly sensible would help too. youtu.be/CPLMyY71_eM?...?

This is not the AP History that I remember learning although it was a while back so I'll allow that I may not be remembering it accurately.

Reading my son's AP History textbook along with him so we can have conversations about the issues. Came across this lovely tidbit tonight: "In 1869, Arabella Mansfield became the first woman [in the US] admitted to practice law."

Sadly started the de-decorating process today. One of my least favorite times of the year ... ranks up with Spring Forward when we lose an hour of sleep.

First post on BlueSky. I'm on fire for self-improvement for my New Year's Resolution. BlueSky for more mental productivity and just got a weighted vest to try to integrate some strength load into my daily routine.
