There was a point there with 3 overs to go where I dared to hope only for that to be dashed on the rocks. Alas, back to pessimism with me!

Got a bit ragged with the catches late on but that doesn't change the quality of this victory, Humphreys and Adair had the tigers in all sorts of trouble early on.

Quite happy with our 181-4, it's competitive. Harry Tector's 69* the highlight, Tim though snapping at his heels with a brisk 32 off 19 balls.

Join the Stop ReArm campaign, a coalition of more than 800 civil society organisations and movements, in calling on MEPs to reject the EU’s rearmament plans in the upcoming European Parliament vote on 26 November. * * * On **26 November 2025** , the European Parliament will vote on proposals that would dramatically increase EU military spending, from the **2026 budget** to the forthcoming **Multiannual Financial Framework (2028–2034)**. These measures include major subsidies for arms companies, deregulation in favour of the defence sector, and a diversion of funds away from civilian priorities such as climate action, diplomacy, social programmes, and scientific research. In response, more than **800 organisations across Europe** , united in the _Stop ReArm Europe_ campaign, have issued an **Open Letter to Members of the European Parliament** , urging them to reject these plans and “move the money from war to peace”. The letter highlights growing concerns about the unprecedented scale of arms-industry lobbying, the erosion of environmental and social safeguards, and the long-term consequences of prioritising weapons production over human security. ## **What are we asking MEPs to do** The Open Letter calls on parliamentarians to: * oppose the 2026 budget unless funds are shifted towards peacebuilding and diplomacy, * resist the “defence omnibus” packages that weaken environmental, labour and ethical standards, * reject the proposed €130 billion for defence and militarised space in the next MFF, and * protect the role of civil society in EU policymaking against growing corporate influence. ## **How can you support the initiative** 1. **Download the Open Letter (PDF)here** Translate it, if useful for your country context. If you translate the letter, please email the translation to us at contact@stoprearm.org 2. **Email the letter directly to MEPs** , especially those from your country. You can use this tool from the European Parliament to find the appropriate email addresses. 3. **Publish the Open Letter on your organisation’s website** to help increase visibility. ## **Updates** **Meetings:** For those who missed the **7th European Call of the StopReArm campaign on 19 November 2025** : During the first part of the meeting, we were happy to host and interview MEPs Cristina Guarda (IT, Europa Verdi, EFA/Greens) and Marc Botenga (BE, PvDA-PTB, The Left). You will receive the recording of the interviews and the minutes next week, together with the link to our next meeting. You can already pencil in the next appointment: **8th European Call: 9.12.2025 // 19:00 CET** **Survey:** Please take some time and fill the 📝 StopReArm Campaign Survey. The goal is to assess our collective strengths and weaknesses, gather insights on positions and capacities within our network, and strategically plan our next steps together. The results will help us map our network, strengthen coordination, and plan upcoming actions. Your participation is highly valuable (though not mandatory). The outcomes of the survey will be shared during the 9.12 meeting. **Social media:** You can also help amplify the message by sharing the campaign updates and visuals on social media. **@StopReArmEurope (Instagram), @StopReArmEurope (Facebook)** **@transformNetwork (Instagram), @transformNetwork (Facebook)** ## **About StopReArm campaign** The Stop ReArm Europe initiative brings together peace organisations, social movements, trade unions, environmental groups and research institutes working to counter the EU’s escalating militarisation. Taking this to the afternoon session on day 5 is a creditable performance. Certainly the BCB won't be moaning about lost revenue the way Cricket Australia is.

Good to see Stephen Doheny getting some runs on debut. Still though, we're facing down the barrel of a second heavy defeat. I'm still not convinced by the decision not to have a specialist seamer, Neill might be impressing with the bat, but he's not suitable as the main seamer […]
