Against AI, for human rights. Orcs aren't Evil, you're thinking of Nazis
Also "Hey can I see your initial sketch?" getting met with "I don't do that" just red flags for miles

I just want to support actual talent and get good art in return WHY HAS MODERN SOCIETY MADE THIS IMPOSSIBLE lol

The last image I got was so laughably bad. Like the perspective was off so bad that the left arm was 50% smaller than the right but lead to a hand that was like 20% bigger than the right?

As positive aside; I also got in contact with the guy who drew my book covers ( kitsunekei1 ) and was so happy that some of my old contacts from 4 years ago are still active.

The battle against AI fraudsters can only be won with people you trust at your side

Hey thanks man! I'll keep that in mind for when my calendar frees up a bit 😁

Tbh? I think wotc realized that the easiest way to give the players what they want is to hand them a blank page and tell them to fill in the blank with whatever they want.

But "I got my powers from a God Shard that made me a demigod"? GOOD. At least it TOUCHES the world building at somepoint! lol

3.5 / prior & PF2e all required Champion / Paladins to have *some* deity that you serve to gain your powers

5e was like "lol who wants to engage with the lore or READ lets just let everyone make up their own god or have none and get their power from the *strength of their Oath*" which is... bad.

Champion = I dedicated myself to serving my God's Purpose

Exemplar = Oh shit I'm a demigod now. Uh. What's my purpose? OK I'LL DO THAT.

Fire would consume him shortly, but he died knowing he finally got to save his friends.

RIP Dr. Patrick Duvard. Build linked below for the curious! #PF2e pathbuilder2e.com/launch.html?...

Under his breath, he whispered, "Been an honor being your friend, gentlemen." ‪ Blocking the door, he turned back to the Artificer and yelled to her, "I might not be a Doctor, but I'm taking up residence here."

He fired a single shot from his pistol. It missed.
He didn't care.

They did, expecting him to follow. ‪ He knew running was pointless. She was faster than them, and could fire off another spell. So after they fled, Duvard calmly closed the door behind them.
September 23, 2025 at 1:50 PM
We were wrong. ‪ First turn, the artificer lifted her hammer & threw a Fireball that hit the whole party. Luckily, no one was downed, but everyone was severely injured. Duvard, tired of not being able to heal those he loved, finally knew how he could protect them. "RUN!" He said.

Final fight; They were low on spells, potions, health, everything, having just finished a fight in the prior room, but we were cocky. We had all the evidence we need to arrest the villain of our mystery. We knew she wouldn't go quietly, but one? Against 4? And just an Artificer, probably all melee?
September 23, 2025 at 1:50 PM
Duvard continued to struggle as an adventurer, being unable to heal his new allies, and not being cut out for life beyond the walls of a laboratory. But he soldiered on, if only to remain in the company of this group of misfits where he finally belonged.

He asked his party to simply call him Patrick now. When they asked why he lied about being a doctor, he simply said, "Well... no one wants the potions of an apprentice." The party quickly went from being his experiments to being his confidants, even friends.
September 23, 2025 at 1:50 PM
For the first time, Duvard saw nothing in his mentor's eyes but cruelty, "Years of serving me and you still know nothing. You're not a doctor! You don't know anything!" He threw a volatile mix at Duvard, splashing against the wall. "Leave with your crackpot theories!"

He did as his mentor asked.
September 23, 2025 at 1:50 PM
His mentor began to change; becoming irritable with his patients, even turning some away. Giving them increasingly experimental brews, or refusing to help without pay. He was unlike himself.

Duvard confronted him about his mutagen abuse, saying, "It's changing you! You need to stop. To rest!" ‪
September 23, 2025 at 1:50 PM
After a few years, Duvard noticed his mentor begin taking some of his potions. He would say, "Just trying to keep up, not as young as I used to be. So many rely on us, you know. A doctor's work is never done." At the time, Duvard admired his dedication to service, and shunted worries from his mind.
September 23, 2025 at 1:50 PM
You see, Duvard had not studied anywhere formally, just as an apprentice of a master alchemist. He was brilliant, kind, & cared for everyone who sought his treatments. Duvard truly respected & loved this man, who exemplified everything that he wanted himself to be. But it would not last. ‪
