For hot takes on cover crops in cool climate viticulture, look no further! My latest paper is out 👍 url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/mF2ACr8DKN...
Cover crops in cool‐climate viticulture: Effects on soil, vine productivity, and fruit quality
Cover crops increased soil organic matter, reduced bulk density, and increased water-stable aggregates. In the short term, soil nitrogen (N) was reduced by grass cover crops and increased by legume .....

It's what you do at a wine conference! Cheers!
Members of our team have had a great time at the annual Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference in Adelaide this week.
It was a great opportunity to learn more about the latest research and innovations in the industry.
Cheers to that!

Shelf life of cut flowers experiment set up by the Horticultural Science students. The most aesthetically pleasing practical class that I teach!

Such a great article about plant microbiomes responding to heat. And relevant to my upcoming research on how substrate microbiomes interact with heat to affect strawberry fruit quality. www.science.org/doi/full/10....

Saw some baby strawberry plants going in at the Pinata berry farm at Orielton yesterday and had a great chat with farm manager Jan, dreaming up research projects to improve plant resilience and maintain fruit size in hot weather.
